In the Eclipse period: “The chanting and meditation done during this time will bring the most virtuous fruit. Therefore, ‘Swayam Siddha Kurmanarayana Kshetra’ special Eclipse Pujas, chanting, ‘Amrita Darapana of Amrita Kalash formed naturally by all participating in meditation, Vasuki Sarparajam, Swayamsiddha who received Kalakuta poison’ along with the blessings of Maheshvara, Hope to get blessings of gurus.
From the hands of Dhanvantari, the nectar that came out of the churning of the milky ocean, when the demons who had taken it were walking around it, Narayana noticed that if the nectar fell into the hands of the demons, thinking that the demons would be immortal and the cause of many misfortunes, he came there in the form of a charmer and distributed the nectar to the gods.
The demon “Svabhanu” opened his eyes a little, realized that they did not get it, came towards the gods and sat next to the Sun and the Moon, he found the nectar. But since both his head and body have life due to the reception of Amrita, he gives life to him as his Dharma and determines the head as ‘Rahu’ and the body as Kethu and assigns them a place in the planetary constellation. They are Rahu-Ketuva Chayagrahas.
They hold the sun and the moon and afflict them because of their attachment to the moon. But not being able to control their power, they leave it for a while. Because they are planets, we say that the eclipse happened, if it is for the moon, it is lunar eclipse, and if it is for the sun, it is called solar eclipse.
During the eclipse 1) When the eclipse occurs 2) Madhyakalam Madhyakalam bath is performed Homa Devarchana Muktikali after bath and donation 3) After eclipse bath is prescribed for liberation lust. Bathing during eclipses of the sun and moon, the merit of one lakh gunas, bathing in the middle period is worth crores of gunas, bathing after the eclipse can cause infinite gunas of merit. These three bath triads are mentioned in Dharma Shastra texts like Smriti Muktaphalam etc.
Saturn is the symbolic planet of Kurmavatara. Due to the pujas done to Nagas due to the influence of the surrounding temples, people with Rahu-Ketu doshas, Kalasarpadosas, Kuja doshas, justice system, defense department, doctors visit this kshetra and during the eclipse, the special pujas are done in this kshetra.
While circumambulating around the kurmakaram mound one can see the Amrita Kalash naturally formed on the mound from the west side and from the north side in the Vasuki Sarparajam pooja mode.
This Swayambhu Srikurma Kshetra is the Kshetra where Amrita originates from the Palasamudra. Divya Kshetra where Lord Vishnu distributed Amrita in Mohini Avatara to the Gods. Rahu – Kethu’s incarnated field. Rahu – Ketu is the house included in navagrahas. We believe that all the devotees, whether they want to get rid of past life’s sins, get rid of financial problems in this life, those who have planetary defects, or those who want to fulfill their mental will, can visit this place, get the blessings of Swami, consume the nectar of Swami, and be blessed with the eight riches of Ayurarogyadi.
