Temple Mahima

A special feature of this field is that it is open during solar and lunar eclipses! At those times one can worship Lord Sri Kurmanatha here. ‘Vasuki’ temples can be visited. It is known that there are no eclipse doshas or eclipse spikes in this field. Apart from every Saturday and Sunday, special pujas are held on Sri Marmajayanthi, Vaikuntha Ekadashi and the last Saturday of Sravana month.

Maha Mrityunjayakshetra:

In this field it is called ‘Maha Mrityunjayakshetra’ because Lord Shiva swallowed Kalakuta’s poison, ‘Sarvasampatvarakshetra’ because of the emergence of Kama Dhenu, Kalpa Vriksha Sri Mahalakshmi, ‘Arogyasiddhikshetra’ due to Dhanvantari, the primordial physician, and ‘Amrita Kshetra’ due to the emergence of ‘Anritham’ which bestows eternal bliss. M’, because Rahu and Ketu are positioned as images ‘Rahu Ketu Kshetra’ is called ‘Mahanagakshetra’ which cures Rahu’s Ketu Doshas, Sarpadosas and Naga Doshas due to the serpent ‘Vasuki’, and also removes the ill effects of Sun, Moon, all Navagrahas, Surya Chandra Gharana Shula Doshas, and the all-beneficial Kshetra is ‘Nallagattu Sri Kurmanathaswami’s Guhalayaksha’. Yetram’.

The field can be reached by vehicles from the ‘Aspari’ (Ashwapuri) mandal center of Kurnool district Adonithaluka. The rock formation Nallagutta can be seen from far away as ‘Mahakurma’ to the devotees. As you get closer, you will be surprised to see that the hill is Mandara mountain and this great serpent ‘Vasuki’ is surrounded by the mountain with its tail at the north-east corner and its head at the north-west. Not only this, the ‘Amrita Kalash’, which emerged from the churning of the mountain, is seen as a massive stones.

Paramasadhana is a spiritual tool for the elimination of all sins!

In the inner part of that cave, Sri Kurma Nathaswamy appears in Kachaparupa. Next to Sri Kurmanarayanaswamy, which is actually in the shape of a turtle, is the Shivlinga of Sri Neelakanth who swallowed the halahala, and then the standing Peddaputta is being worshipped.

Kshetra (Giri) Pradakshina

Lord Kurmaswamy is worshiped with Vavili (Nirgundi) leaves every morning after abhishekam to get rid of itchiness and pain on the back caused by the friction of Mandara mountain. A panacea for pains, swellings and sore throats! After that they decorate Sri Swami with flowers. Pidapa Giri Pradakshina begins.

Nalguttagiri Pradakshinam is done every Saturday during Rahu Kaalaam 9-10.30 hrs. In this tour of the hill which takes only one hour, around the Mandara mountain, here and there you can see ‘Mahanagam Vasuki’ nine heads high mounds with nagamalli vines on them. Those who circumambulate the hill while worshiping these nine shrines will be compensated for Ghorasarpadoshas and Nagadoshas. Moreover, it is known that those who have Sarpadosas must have a live Sarpadarshan to the devotees somewhere near the Nine Puttalas!

Why not a thousand words? Finally one word!

A turtle has a distinctive quality. She remembers her ‘eggs’ by burying them in the sand. It is enough to visit the Nallaguttakshetra where they are safely hatched and like babies, with a big amrita kalash on top, and Sri Kurmanatha worshiping in the form of Kurma in the cave inside it! It is true that devotees will be saved forever and ever!
